1. Registration Options

Teams (up to 3 members) are strongly encouraged. Registering with your own teammates reduces compatibility and matching issues. Individual participants are welcome; organizers will make reasonable efforts to find a suitable teammate based on grade/age, experience and available registrations, but a match cannot be guaranteed.

2. Participant 1

This event is for Grade 3 and above. For an exception, please contact info@inspirebcsc.ca before registering.

Required for participants under 19 years of age.

We’ll send your registration and payment confirmation to this address.

3. Team Members — Team Registration Only

This section only applies to Team Registration. Select “Team of 2” or “Team of 3” above if you are registering more than one participant.

4. Team / Partner Information

For Individual Registration:

A parent who actively participates in the workshop/competition counts as a team member. A parent attending only to supervise does not count as a participant.

5. Emergency Contact
6. Photo & Video Consent *

Photos and videos may be taken during the event for event coverage and promotional use by the organizers.

7. How Did You Hear About This Event? *
8. Competition Rules & Guidelines *

1. Participants must be in Grade 3 or above unless the organizers approve an exception in advance.

2. Teams normally consist of two or three participants. Team registrations should arrive with all team members confirmed. Individual registrants may request matching, but a suitable match is not guaranteed.

3. Participants must attend the event briefing and follow instructions from coaches, scorekeepers and event organizers.

4. The robotics challenge, technical requirements, scoring method and official attempt procedure will be explained by the coaches. Organizer/coach decisions on technical scoring and safety are final for the event.

5. Participants must use equipment responsibly. Deliberate damage, unsafe conduct, interference with another team’s robot/workspace, or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from an attempt or the event.

6. Teams must be ready when called. Late arrival may reduce available workshop/practice time and may affect the competition schedule.

7. Participants should not receive unauthorized outside assistance during an official competition attempt. Parent participation is permitted only when the parent is registered as a team member or when coaches specifically permit assistance.

8. Scores will be recorded by the designated scorekeeper. Any scoring concern should be raised promptly and respectfully with the event officials before final results are announced.

9. The organizers may make reasonable schedule, table, team-matching, category or operational adjustments when required for safety, fairness, attendance or event flow.

10. Food/snacks may be available separately. Participants should disclose relevant food concerns directly to the food vendor and parent/guardian; registration does not imply that meals are included.

9. Refund / Cancellation Policy *

Registration fees are refundable when a cancellation request is received at least 7 calendar days before the event. Cancellations received less than 7 days before the event are non-refundable because staffing, equipment and event capacity are committed in advance. No refund is provided for no-shows, late arrivals, voluntary withdrawal after the event begins, or removal for failure to follow event/safety rules.

If the organizers cancel the event, registered participants will receive a full refund of the registration fee. If the event is rescheduled, registrants may transfer their registration to the new date or request a refund within the deadline communicated by the organizers. Any approved refund will be returned using an available payment method and may require reasonable processing time.

For an individual registrant who requested teammate matching, inability to guarantee a particular teammate is not by itself grounds for a refund after the applicable refund deadline. Organizers will make reasonable matching efforts and will communicate material participation issues when possible.

10. Participant Consent *

By checking this box, the participant (or their parent/legal guardian) confirms that:

  • The participant agrees to follow all event rules, use equipment responsibly, and comply with reasonable decisions and directions of coaches, scorekeepers, event organizers and venue staff.
  • The participant is medically and physically fit to take part in the robotics workshop and competition, and any relevant medical, allergy or accessibility needs have been communicated to the organizers where necessary.
  • The participant understands that participation in an event may involve ordinary risks. InspireBC Sports Club (IBCSC), its organizers, coaches, volunteers, event partners, and the venue are not responsible for injury, loss, theft, or damage arising from participation, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.
  • Event schedules, team matching, competition groupings, and other operational details may be adjusted by the organizers when reasonably necessary.
  • If the participant is under 19 years of age, the person completing this registration is the participant’s parent or legal guardian (or has their authority) and consents to the participant taking part.
11. Participant / Parent-Guardian Acknowledgement *
